UNICUS (Latin interpretation – Unparalleled, unique). Due to the increasing popularity and the desire to elevate the FRUX FRUGIS, this wine was made to add greater complexity and structure to the existing icon wine, however due to its unique balance of fruit weight and structure, the wine found its own identification and in 2014 the UNICUS was released. The vineyard sources are from the Northern aspect of the elevated McLaren Vale region.
Variety & Style
This powerful Shiraz shows illuminating purity of plums, black currants and a touch of cedar. There is spicy clove and black pepper on the nose, supported by red and black currant perfume. The length and drive of well structured tannins allow the Unicus to cellar well.
