This Shiraz wine exhibits spicy lift with oak notes of vanilla and clove. The palate is concentrated with ripe spicy flavours and underlying ripe berry fruits. The finish is long with firm concentrated tannins. The wine will develop complexity with long term cellaring.
This is the first vintage of Ulithorne Frux Frugis Shiraz to be bottled with a Stelvin closure.
2006 was probably the best vintage of the decade. It was glorious with all varieties performing well. Yields were low, but constancy of fruit with lovely fine ripe tannins and elevated notes of acidity gave the winemaker the perfect opportunity to produce high quality wines.
“Some colour development; rich soft black fruits with some caramel elements; even palate feel and flow with some fruit sweetness ex alcohol.” Drink by: 2016 / Date tasted: 19/Feb/2008

Ulithorne Frux Frugis 2006 15% Screwcap
Lovely wine in all aspects. Appearance suggests a long life ahead which carries right through to the finish
An impressive wine dominated with dark red fruits with a savoury background. Elegant, juicy and very focused. Delicious and extremely drinkable. That’s the key point. It’s the mix of ripe fruit notes matched with slinky tannin and elevated acidity with a lovely mulberry plum finish.
