This Shiraz wine exhibits spice and ripe berry lift with oak notes of vanilla and clove. The palate is concentrated with ripe spicy flavours and underlying ripe berry fruits. The finish is long with firm concentrated tannins that will benefit from careful cellaring, the wine softening and gaining in complexity.
2008 was a vintage of two parts. The early ripening varieties, primarily old vine shiraz was outstanding to spectacular. Fourteen days for 40c + days cooked everything
“Strong red-purple; a left field combination of dark fruits on the one hand, and a spicy/savoury bitter chocolate twist on the other; certainly complex and long, but difficult to read.” Drink by: 2023 / Date tasted: 06/Mar/2010

Museum Tasting Review (May 2017)
Ulithorne Frux Frugis 2008 15%. Screwcap
Dark and chunky on the noise yet quite poised and polished through the palate. For a difficult year, its showing far better than the reputation of the year due to the fact of the vineyard location and its early ripening attributes which play a huge advantage for a year such as this.
